CYCLING

Since the Tour de France started its 2014 event in Yorkshire, the area has become famous for its cycling. There is now the annual Tour de Yorkshire, many sportives and in the surrounding area, countless highly-rated (and very challenging) climbs, including the country's steepest paved road (up to a leg-sapping 33% gradient). And the cycling is not confined to the road with world-class mountain biking possibilities in nearby Dalby Forest and the North York Moors. An ex-world champion mountain biker has even stayed in our cottages.

On site, we have secure bike storage available and we have a range of bike tools, track pump, bike stand, washing facilities etc on site too. We can even pick you up from York train station if you're travelling here by bike and can provide some suggested routes of varying degrees of difficulty.
