Award winning self-catering holiday cottages in Yorkshire.

Beech Farm Cottages have won many awards including an "England for Excellence" Award from the English Tourist Board.

We have also won the Yorkshire Tourist Board's "Holiday Cottage of the Year Award" an exceptional four times.

Situated in a delightful location in the peaceful village of Wrelton on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, you will discover eight luxury self-catering cottages ranging in size from a small cottage for 2 people to the Farmhouse for up to 10 people.

Quality Assured

Quality is assured.  In 2015 Beech Farm Cottages again received a Gold Award from VisitEngland for

"exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service".

We personally supervise the preparation of our cottages and do not use agency staff.  As a result the Tourist Board and Agency quality inspections of our cottages always highlight the quality of our housekeeping and how they are exceptionally clean and well maintained.

We have a continuous programme of upgrading & improving the cottages.

A Beautiful Setting

Beech Farm Cottages are in the small village of Wrelton in the valley leading up to Rosedale Abbey and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park (2 miles up the lane). The cottages are ideally situated to explore the many attractions of North Yorkshire such as the Moors, Dales, Heritage Coast and historic walled city of York.

Our village, which was listed in the Doomsday Book, faces south, sheltered from the exposed moorland weather and is far enough away from the coast to avoid sea mists.  The nearest town is Pickering, 3 miles away.

The cottages surround a long secluded courtyard with gardens & a paddock backing onto fields. The Good Holiday Guide summed up Beech Farm Cottages as :-

"Effectively a hamlet in its own right, in which every house is a haven of comfort"

A Selection of Cottages

We offer a selection of eight luxury self-catering cottages ranging in size from a small cottage for 2, to cottages for 4 people or 6 people or even up to up to 10 people in the Farmhouse or Shepherd's Lodge.

Once a traditional working farm the 18th Century farmhouse and buildings have been sympathetically converted and modernised into one of England's top holiday cottages.  We cater for family groups and are on site to give personal service.

Excellent facilities

The cottages surround a pretty courtyard, gardens & terrace opening onto fields. You can also enjoy our indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool spa, sauna, walled garden with Koi pond and barbecue area. In addition children enjoy the adventure play area and paddock as well as seeing our Llamas (Llucy & Mimi), "Polly" the stable cat, chickens, ducks, & koi carp.

All the cottages have access to wi-fi, gas central heating, double glazing, microwaves, DVD players etc and the larger ones have dishwashers, washing machines and freezers.

Attractions in the Area

Within a very short drive of Beech Farm you will discover a wealth of places to visit and activities to pursue.  We are on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 550 sq miles of moorland, forest & valleys.

The attractions of North Yorkshire appeal to all tastes and ages.  They range from open moors, to forests, coastal walks, abbeys, castles, historic buildings, seaside resorts, market towns and small villages.  Activities easily available are walking (moorland, forests, coast), cycling, swimming, fishing, karting, paintballing, off-road 4x4, golf, riding, etc.

......or you can just relax in beautiful, uncrowded surroundings.

"Everywhere peace, everywhere serenity, and a marvellous freedom
from the tumult of the world"

Aelred, Abbot of Rievaulx Abbey, North Yorkshire (1142-1167)

Tanglewood was as spotless and up to scratch as the other cottages we have stayed in before, with the extra important ingredients of your and Pat’s thoughtfulness and thoroughness in running Beech Farm.

“We’d have liked to have stayed longer and especially with the fine weather. We’ve had a fabulous week doing all the things we love to do. Our lunch at Levisham on Sunday, dinner at the Crab & Lobster in Asenby on Monday and posh fish and chips at the Magpie in Whitby on Tuesday. Also an afternoon shopping in York. Not to forget our daily walks into Pickering for coffee each morning. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
